    What Should You Automate First?

Most owners who want to automate something start with the most complicated thing they can think of. Then it stalls, and they decide automation is not for them.

There is an order to this. Start at the top. Stop when the problem goes away.

First — stop losing the calls you already get

Before anything else, make sure the people already trying to reach you can.

An automatic text back on every missed call. It is the cheapest thing on this list and it saves the most work, because it fixes a problem you are having today rather than one you might have later.

If you do only one thing, do this one.

Second — get every message into one place

Calls, texts, Facebook, email. One inbox, on your phone.

This is not about being organised. It is about not discovering a message from three weeks ago in an app you forgot you had.

Third — follow up without remembering to

Someone asks about a job. You get busy. A week goes by.

Automatic follow-up sends the second and third message and stops the moment they book. Most work that gets lost is lost here, quietly, and nobody notices because nothing visibly went wrong.

Fourth — reviews on their own

Happy customers do not leave reviews unless you ask, and you will not remember to ask every time.

Automating the ask is what moves you up in the map results over a few months. It is slow and it compounds, which is why it is fourth and not first.

Fifth — connect the tools you already pay for

Now it gets specific to you. Your booking system talking to your invoicing. Your job sheets not being retyped. This is where Make.com comes in and where it stops being a package and starts being a build.

Sixth — an agent that answers

A phone or chat agent trained on your business that answers questions and books work.

This is last on purpose. It is the most powerful and the most setup, and if the first five are not done it is a fast car on a bad road.

    The rule

Add the next thing when the last one has paid for itself. Not before.

Anyone selling you step six when you have not done step one is selling, not advising.

Next step: Book a call and we will tell you which step you are on. Fifteen minutes, and if the answer is just do the first one, that is what we will say.

    Find Your First Step

Book a call and we will tell you which step you are on.

    Book a Call

    15 minutes. No pitch deck.
